Hello there! My name is Jon Wilcox, founder of Open Horizons Tutoring.
I started working with students of varying age groups in 2007 while earning my Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies at Westmont College. I specialize in Elementary, Junior High, and High School Mathematics, ranging from basic Algebra to Calculus. I am proficient in teaching Language Arts, and would be thrilled for the opportunity to help your student craft or edit their papers, develop their spelling and grammar, as well as prepare for the SAT or the ACT. Additionally, if your student is interested in music, I also offer private trumpet and guitar lessons! Each student is unique, with a unique learning style, so I aim to cater to how your student learns best and incorporate an element of fun in my teaching. After all, if we want students to “get it”, we need to make learning an experience!
